The Departments of Cell Biology & Anatomy and Psychiatry, through a partnership with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI) at the University of Calgary, invite applications for a tenure-track position in the Cellular and Molecular Basis of Mental Health at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Qualifications include an MD, PhD or MD/PhD. The preferred applicant will have an established track record in fundamental (basic) research leading to a better understanding and treatment of mental illness. The individual will enhance research capacity in mental health at the Faculty of Medicine, bridging basic neuroscience with clinical applications. The candidate will contribute to translational research through collaboration with the Mental Health Centre for Research and Education and the Departments of Cell Biology & Anatomy and Psychiatry, and will promote multidisciplinary collaborations with basic scientists within the HBI. The successful candidate will be offered a generous start up package and laboratory space, a tenure-track position with a primary appointment in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy, and full membership within the HBI. The selected candidate will also be expected to contribute to the teaching of neuroanatomy at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
