Neurovascular Research Postdoctoral Position, Division of Neurosurgery, St. Michael’s Hospital/University of Toronto
A 2-year postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. R. Loch Macdonald. The laboratory focuses on molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurovascular dysfunction after stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Small and large animal stroke models are used along with molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging and electrophysiology to study vascular biology and brain dysfunction after stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field. Experience with animal models of stroke and electrophysiology are desirable. The postdoctoral scholar will have access to the University of Toronto research environment, as well as to extensive facilities at St. Michael’s Hospital and the MaRS discovery district centre in Toronto. Starting date is flexible.
